I omitted to mention that the link on the email you have just received frustratingly does not work (a current feature we are trying to remedy). You need to click through to our website to read the message and access the link. Normal service etc…

  • Haydn Concert 24th Jun – Programme

Here is a link to a pdf of programme which will be handed out on Saturday: Concert Programme. It’s on the issuu platform, is best viewed in full screen and is accessible on phone, tablet and laptop. You can also download a pdf version for your own use, using the download button.

It includes some useful narrative about the Creation work and the Zarzuelas that Ad Libitum will be singing and background information about the soloist and the Hertfordshire Chamber Orchestra.

  • Brahms’ Requiem – come and sing Sat 5th Feb

Just a reminder of the notice I gave at rehearsal last Tuesday:

The Hammersmith and Fulham Choral Society are having a “come and sing” Brahms’ Requiem on Saturday 5th Feb in St Mary’s Church, High Street, Putney. Many of you will remember that we sang this as a choir in 2014, and may like to relive the moment. You’re also welcome if you haven’t sung it, it’s a magnificent piece.

It starts at 11:00, has 2 rehearsal sessions with a break for lunch and finishes with a full performance. Tickets are £20. Full details are here.

  • Carol Singing in Christchurch

The church where we normally rehearse (Christchurch, East Sheen) are having a carol concert on Sunday, 22nd December at 5.00 pm (meeting up at the church at 4.00 pm).  We would love some of you to join us to sing in the choir (there will be about four members of Sheengate singing already and all voice parts very welcome).  It will only be to sing carols which we all know.  If you would like to join us you can just turn up or let me (paula.frew@gmail.com) or Brenda ( brenda.morris@hotmail.co.uk) know.

Many thanks and a very happy Christmas to you all.

  • Concert 30th Nov – promotion #3

Using Twitter to promote our concert

Donald Trump has 55 million Twitter followers of which about 60% have recently been identified as fake.  Sheen Gate Choir (@sheengatechoir) has 4 followers, one of which is me and none of which have been called fake.

Now we could do better.   I’m sure most of you are heavy users of Twitter so come on, follow @sheengatechoir and retweet Roger’s shiny new tweet about our upcoming concert.

If you are not a user of Twitter, but you know someone who is, particularly with a large number of followers, direct them to our account @sheengatechoir and encourage them to follow us and to retweet Roger’s tweet, perhaps with some encouraging comment to attend.

Let’s see our follower number soar to the dizzy heights of Trump’s

    DOWNLOAD NOW IN JPEG FORMAT

Here is a link to a jpeg version of the above flyer. This is useful if you want to send an email with the flyer in the body of the email or add it to a WhatsApp or text message. Either drag it (download) to your hard disk or import into your photo app or simply drag it straight into a message. It can be used just as you would a photo. Now you have no excuse not to broadcast the concert to as many people as you can think of.
